Christmas Stocking Two - For Boys

Of course, none of these beautiful stockings need to be defined as for girls or for boys.  I grew up in a home full of older brothers and really didn't have time for dolls, but I did have time to be a "Tom Boy" as they used to call us girls who loved to play outdoors with the guys.  I loved it all in both worlds.  Here is the Christmas Stocking for the guys.  The alphabet to customize the name at the top is included with the pattern section for Christmas Stocking One in the previous post.

Christmas Stocking One - For Girls

Is it too soon start working on Christmas stockings?  Not if they are as detailed as the ones I will be posting!  This first one was created for girls and it full of delights.

Pansies in a Heart Motif

This example of the pattern was done in such pastel colors that it might be difficult to see what a delightful pattern it is!  And the artist chose not to include outlines.  Definitely one of those that could do with some color switch outs.

Russian Santa and His Friends

Just in case you were wondering what the full piece looks like of the background I chose for this blog, here it is!  I don't think I will ever do a piece like this on 22 count cloth again because of how tiny the stitches had to be.  But I am really glad I did this one!
Where is the pattern!?  I am looking for it!  As soon as I find it, I will post again so it will be available.

Regal Rooster Number Two

And here is the second Regal Rooster in the series first published in 1995.  I think I like this one better than the first one.  I have some cool metallic threads I could use on this guy!

Regal Rooster Number One

This is the first in a set of two incredible roosters.  The next year of the Rooster isn't until 2029, so you have plenty of time to finish the set!  Ha, ha, or just to have a beautiful pair on your walls.  I imagine doing them with bits of metal thread or iridescent threads in the tail feathers.

Spring Bunny Rabbits

Another set of bunny rabbits!?  Yes, so you can get it done in time for Easter!  Plus, these guys are just too cute and colorful.

Lilies and Alphabet Sampler

Long ago, before photographs, an embroidered "sampler" was your calling card.  It demonstrated your skills in more ways than one.  Besides showing that you could embroider, how well it was done (or not) said a lot about you.  In some families, these have been handed down through generations!

I love Asiatic Lilies, not only for their beauty and their heavenly scent, but for the fact that if they are grown naturally outdoors in my corner of the world, they are in full bloom when it is my birthday!

A Single Rose Rosa gallica

I've seen this one on Pinterest, but never the pattern and the finished rose together.  So here they are!

Four Bunny Rabbits

Another pattern I have always wanted to have time to do, these delightful bunny rabbits!  And again, you can take elements of a pattern and use it without doing the entire pattern.

Floral Pattern For Monochrome Decor

I know there is a name for this type of cross stitch pattern, but I can't remember it!
The examples used for this floral pattern show it being used in a monochrome way with shades of blue or pink, but I am sure that you could modify it to include any color scheme you liked!

Hummingbirds and Fuchsias! Two of My Favorite Things!

I love hummingbirds and where I live, we have them year round.  So I plant a lot of blooming plants to keep them happy and healthy.  Especially lots of the various species of fuchsias.  Some of which can become huge bushes.  Like the ones that go all the way up to the roof of the main house!

Country Cottage and Garden First In Set of Three

This cute little country cottage and garden is part of a set of three.  I am hoping I have all three!  But for now, here is the first one.  Update 4/1/2019 I found the other two and the second one in this set is posted on 4/1/2019 and the third one will be posted on 4/2/2019.  So glad I found all three!

Violets Sampler With A Garden

Although I have never done this entire sampler, I have often used elements in it for smaller pieces.  Like the violets portion in the upper left hand corner, I've used that for name plaques.  With colors of my own choosing of course!  For many of these patterns, it might be difficult to duplicate the exact same colors in the charts.  Especially if you are not using the same brand of embroidery floss!  So I would not worry too much about that and just do the colors you like!

Amish Farm - Pattern for a full picture

I have always wanted to have the time to due a full panel cross-stitch pattern like this one.  It was originally published in three panels in three different publications.  I believe I have them all and will be searching through my collection for the other two sections of this panel.  But even if I don't, this panel alone is still a work of art!

Carousel Pony and Heart Ornament Cross Stitch Patterns

I have always wanted to use the Carousel Pony portion of this pattern, but not for an ornament.  That is something I do a lot, I take elements out of a pattern to use in different ways.  I almost always change the colors and I often change the pattern itself a bit also.

If you click on the image, it should open up into a page from which you can copy it.

New Blog For Collecting and Sharing Vintage Patterns

I've been collecting embroidering and crochet patterns ever since I was a little girl and my grandmother taught me how to embroider and crochet.  During a recent search for a pattern to use to make a commemorative plaque for a friend, I realized that almost none of the patterns I have in my collection are available for free.

I began pinning the ones I did find, to my Pinterest boards here:
Pedricks on Pinterest

And decided to start scanning an uploading my collection.  But to do that, I needed the patterns to already be on the web with pages that can be "pinned."
I already write in two other blogs:
ArtisansOfAmerica  and PedricksCorner

But the first one is for sharing artists from all over the continent and the second one is for my business.
So here is a new beginning.  Where I hope to be sharing my collection of patterns with you!

Below is a recent photo of my embroidery floss collection.  Which to-date, have almost reached 1,000 colors.  And yes, I will always be adding to it!
