First of Three Set of Nesting Hens

When I first started to scan my old vintage cross stitch patterns, they weren't in any particular order.  So I am trying now to make sure that if a piece is part of a set, that I find all of the parts to the set.  I had already post the second hen in this set of three.  And here is hen number one!  I will post hen number three tomorrow.

Vintage Christmas Stocking Three, Cozy Scene

Yes!  Time for another Christmas stocking, as these are quite detailed and will need some time to complete.  I will try to space out the Christmas decor posts throughout the year.  One of the aspects of these wonderful stockings, is that so many of the elements in each one can be used individually.

Historical Sailing Ship Sampler with Whale

When I was a very young girl, I knew my dad was in the Navy and that the Navy had ships.  But the only ships I'd seen were in books and they all had sails like this one.  So every time I imagined him on duty at sea, I thought he was on a ship like the one in this sampler.  Do you have a sailor in your family?

Carrots and Bunnies Nursery Decor

This is a cute one for a nursery.  What can be better than carrots and bunnies?

Amish Farm Panel One of Three Part Panel

Here is the first panel of the set of three panels for the Amish Farm Scene.  I posted the third panel in January and wasn't sure I had the other two.  And I do!!  Yeah!  So here is the first panel and I'll post the center panel tomorrow.

Floral Wreath With Ribbons

I especially like the version with the dark background.  But I would use brighter colors for the flowers or at least out-line everything with a back stitch.  How will you make it?

Cutest Bear Riding Rocking Horse

I know I say this a lot, but here is another little pattern I have always wanted to do!  This little guy is just too cute.

Formal Garden Sampler

I love the butterflies in this sampler even more than the beautiful roses.  I've done them individually as brooch pins.  What will you make?

The Cutest Puffins

I have used these Puffins as single illustrations of the letter P on my measuring charts and had forgotten about the signs one can make with the original pattern.  Amazing that the "no puffin" version is still relevant today almost 30 years later.

My Favorite Santa Claus Ornament!

I have made this Santa Clause at least four times to give as a gift!  He takes some time, but he is worth the effort.  As you can see, I usually choose what colors I want to use and rarely follow the exact same colors listed in a pattern.

Blue Bonnet Little Girl in Flower Garden

I realize that most little girls don't wear bonnets anymore, but maybe we all should.  Before we switched to everyone sporting a tan, people knew that the sun could be dangerous and everyone wore a hat outdoors.  I don't mean to be negative here, because this is a delightful scene, but skin cancer is at epidemic numbers nowadays.  Meanwhile, this is a beautiful piece!

Nutcrackers Set of Five

I actually have done this wonderful set of nutcrackers twice!  But I did them each as individual ornaments that I gave away, so I can't show you my work.  This is one of my favorite patterns, I hope you make them too.

Carousel Rabbit

This Carousel Rabbit is one of the patterns I've been holding onto for years in the hopes that I will have time to make him someday.  I hope you like him too!

Farm Life Part Three of Three

And here is the bottom piece to the three part Farm Life sampler!  I used a number of the small characters from this panel in the six foot measuring charts I make.  I cross-stitch a ruler down one side and an illustrated alphabet down the other side.  I especially like the dog and the horse.

Farm Life Sampler Part One of Three

It turns out that the vegetable garden with the scarecrow that I posted on the 4th of February was actually the middle of the set of three and not the first part.  So here is the top of the sampler and tomorrow I will post the bottom part!

Noah's Ark and Animals Galore

This piece is going to take some time to do!  But it would make a great addition to any room of the house, not just the nursery.  And the animals can be used individually for other smaller pieces.
